It is a Unesco world heritage site and one of the longest standing European universities, dating back to the year 1293.<\/p>\n<p>The blockchain course at the school is intended for \u201cProfessionals, students or those interested in learning about blockchain-based technologies from an integrative perspective of technical, economic, social and legal aspects,\u201d the school\u2019s website details. \u201cThe objective of the study is to provide comprehensive training in the field of blockchain technology, DAOs and smart contracts, including cryptocurrencies as a special and transversal case, from a triple perspective: technological, economic-financial and regulatory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uam.es\/UAM\/Home.htm?language=es\"><strong>Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid, Spain<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid (UAM), the Autonomous University of Madrid, is a public university located on the north side of Spain\u2019s capital city. Established in 1968, the school is currently offering a short course, from July 18 to 20, entitled \u201cBlockchain: from cryptocurrencies to business networks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In this course, the technical foundations of the Bitcoin blockchain will be introduced, with an eminently practical approach, showing its limitations and placing special emphasis on the problems it poses regarding the intelligent management of records and their authorship,\u201d according to the course description.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs solutions to these problems, the concept of smart contract and its implementation and use will be introduced in Ethereum and Hyperledger. Finally, in the context of a roundtable, possible models and business networks based on blockchain will be discussed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/universidadeuropea.es\/en\"><strong>Universidad Europea, Spain<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Universidad Europea Madrid, the European University of Madrid, is a private university with more than 16,000 students. The school offers a 6-month postgraduate diploma in Bitcoin and blockchain which starts in October.<\/p>\n<p>Six modules are included in the course: blockchain technology; basics of Bitcoin; security and investigation of the blockchain; legal aspects linked to cryptocurrency; innovation with the blockchain; and project development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you finish the course you will be able to analyze in a critical way the technical and legal viability of solutions based on blockchain technologies and to develop integral projects related to cryptocurrency,\u201d the school describes. \u201cYou will be a professional in the technology sector capable of identifying innovative opportunities beyond the conventional use of technology, adding value to any company in the ICT or financial sector.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/\">University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The University of Edinburgh, in conjunction with Input Output Hong Kong Ltd, February this year established a Blockchain Technology Laboratory within the university\u2019s School of Informatics.<\/p>\n<p>It will concentrate on blockchain research and development focusing on industry-inspired problems.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unic.ac.cy\/\"><strong>University of Nicosia, Cyprus<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The University of Nicosia in Cyprus offers a Master&#8217;s degree in digital currencies at \u20ac12,080 tuition fee, under the Department of Economics and Finance.<\/p>\n<p>The course, which aims at helping professionals, entrepreneurs, government officials, and public administrators to better understand the technology of digital currency and how digital currency interacts with existing monetary and financial systems, is taught by Andreas Antonopoulos and Antonis Polemitis who are leaders in the cryptocurrency industry.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.itu.dk\/\"><strong>The IT University of Copenhagen, Denmark<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The IT University of Copenhagen in Denmark is planning the first-ever blockchain summer school, a Ph.D. course, the first-ever in the college and it will focus on educating students to develop related solutions, study blockchain technology impact on business models and changes occurring in the economic, organizational and computer science areas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vum.bg\/\"><strong>Varna University of Management, Bulgaria<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Varna University of Management (VUM), located in Bulgaria, recently <a href=\"https:\/\/vum.bg\/vum-bitcoin-scholarships\/\">announced<\/a> that ten applicants for the school\u2019s software engineering bachelor\u2019s program will earn bitcoin-based scholarships. Students will be able to choose to receive the scholarship fund for 1000 EUR in the equivalent amount of bitcoins.
